WHAT TO EXPECT

Discover The Yukon

Kluane National Park and Alsek Valley Region

Led by plus size outdoor adventure enthusiasts Kaila Walton and Megan Banker, Wander Wild is a 4-day, 3-night cozy wilderness retreat at Mt. Logan EcoLodge, nestled in the stunning Kluane mountain range of the Yukon.

You’ll spend your days:

  • Learning and practicing photography with Kaila, including the chance to capture the northern landscape (and mayyyyyybe the Northern Lights)

  • Exploring the outdoors with Megan and Kaila on light-to-moderate hikes, like St. Elias Lake or King’s Throne, with plenty of time to pause, notice, and enjoy the journey

  • Resting deeply with afternoons of sauna sessions, cabin coziness, and time to read or simply be still

  • Enjoying the lodge’s warm hospitality with nourishing, locally-inspired meals shared around the table

  • Flowing through an optional yoga session designed to stretch, ground, and restore after days of hiking and exploring

  • Ending your nights under Yukon skies—whether that’s with conversation by the fire, a book in hand, or the possibility of photographing the northern lights if conditions align

  • Queen Bed in Private Pod Cabin (no water/power in room): $2,000CAD Only 1 bed available but can add a second person for $550

  • Twin Bed in a Shared Lodge Room: $1500CAD 6 available

  • Twin Bed in Shared Yurt: $1500CAD (luxury yurt with no water/power) 2 available

  • Queen Bunk Bed in Shared Yurt: $1750CAD (luxury yurt with no water/power) 2 available

What’s Included:

  • 3-night accommodations at Mount Logan Ecolodge

  • 3 Dinners, 2 Lunches, and 3 Breakfasts with coffee/tea prepared by a private chef with locally sourced and onsite-grown herbs and produce whenever possible

  • Guided nature photography sessions led by Kaila Walton

  • Optional guided hikes with Megan and Kaila (weather and participant dependent)

  • Use of lodge amenities including sun deck, wood fired sauna, fire pit, and living room area. The lodge has WiFi and a friendly dog on premises.

Deposits are non-refundable and hold your space. The remaining balance will be due 90 days before the retreat.

We welcome guests from anywhere but know you’re mainly coming from the U.S. and Canada. Prices are listed in CAD but we’re offering both CAD and USD check out forms to keep costs consistent after exchange rates and processing fees. Choose the option that fits your home currency to avoid foreign transaction fees on your end.

Currency Note: All CAD payments are processed in Canadian dollars. Some card issuers may charge an international transaction fee because our processing account is U.S.-based. This is not common, but depends on your card’s terms.

Megan is a plus size outdoor adventure enthusiast who brings a mix of curiosity, practicality, and encouragement to every outdoor experience. She knows that heading into the wilderness can sometimes feel overwhelming, and she loves helping people feel more comfortable and confident outside. Whether it’s sharing gear tips, setting a steady hiking pace, or simply reminding everyone to pause and enjoy the view, Megan makes exploring feel less intimidating and more inviting.

At Wander Wild, she’ll be your supportive trail companion—the one who makes sure no one feels left behind and everyone has the chance to fully enjoy the magic of being in the Yukon.

Fun Facts:

  1. She’s never met a waterfall she doesn’t like

  2. She got married at the Taco Bell cantina in Las Vegas and will never shut up about it

  3. All it takes to make her happy is a good book, Diet Coke and sour cream glaze from Tim Horton’s

KAILA WALTON | @KAILAWALTON

Kaila is a plus size outdoor adventure enthusiast and photographer with a gift for helping people see both the wilderness and themselves in a new light. Her work captures the beauty of wild places, but also the intimate, human moments within them. An avid reader, she never travels without a book (or three) tucked in her bag and quiet reading time is one of her favorite ways to recharge between adventures.

At Wander Wild, she’ll guide participants through approachable, hands-on photography sessions while also encouraging those cozy, restful moments that make time in the Yukon so meaningful.

Fun Facts:

  2. She prefers hot spring over hot tubs

  3. She will drive hours somewhere just to watch a sunset or sunrise
